November 18-22, 2019, is American Education Week and we want to take the time to highlight the importance of bringing together educators, parents, students, and community in a unified effort to build great public schools. Each day we will spotlight the different people who are critical in building our amazing team here at Linton Public School. We all play an important role in education and we want to recognize all of that amazing work.
Wednesday, November 20: Paraprofessionals Educators and Administrative Staff: We stop today to recognize our amazing paraprofessionals and administrative support staff, who walk along side of our teachers and admin daily to support all of our students. Handshakes, hugs, and reminders of gloves, they are there with just what is needed.
Your phone calls are greeted with a friendly hello by Donna, Lacey or Marcia. These ladies know the schedules of many and the phone numbers of all. Their commitment to all our staff and students is endless. If you see these amazing ladies today give them a huge thank you! #Reach.Educate.Inspire

•Tuesday, November 19: Parents Day. We are proud that you have picked us to be your child’s educator, but today we tip our hats to you. Research proves that parent involvement is critical in creating a successful educational experience. Today we thank you for the nights spent looking over homework, studying spelling words, reading together, and embracing those educational moments at home that make the difference. Your support is obvious everywhere we go whether it be from the sidelines of a game, a good nighttime story, serving team meals, packing snacks or celebrating a good paper. We see your dedication to education and can’t thank you enough for your support! #Reach.Educate.Inspire

This is Superintendent Keeney with an important message from Linton School. Linton School will be in a "soft lockdown" tomorrow as a precautionary measure to the events of the ND Public Service Commission hearing taking place at the Emmons Co. Courthouse regarding the proposed Pumping Station in rural Linton.
A "soft lockdown" means that school will go on as usual inside our building. However, the doors will remain locked all day tomorrow and no one will be allowed to enter or exit the building unless it is an emergency situation. If your student has an appointment tomorrow, I am asking you to reschedule, especially if it is in Linton, if you are able.
Parents of students in "old town", and those that live in town and walk to school, are asked to drive their children to and from school tomorrow. We will provide busing to our in-town students, who would otherwise have to walk home, but you need to inform either office if this is necessary for your student.
These measures are simply a saftey precaution to keep all of us safe as the public hearing process is completed. The hearing will be broadcast on BEK TV, and is also linked to a YouTube channel that can be found on the ND Public Service Commission website. Thank You.
