Our Latest Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) Related School Closures
FOR RELEASE: MARCH 16, 2020
Linton Public School will be closed for at least five (5) school days from March 16-20, 2020.
Linton School Plans to Continue to Offer:
- Daily grab-n-go meals at 12:00 PM for all students who RSVP for their meal by 9:30 AM each day
- Normal lunch price will be charged for full-pay students, free/reduced eligible students will retain their status
- Educational guidance for this week will reach students/families by Tuesday, March 17, 2020

Linton School is Suspending, Postponing, or Canceling the Following Activities:
- No extracurricular or fine arts practices or competitions until further notice
- No Acalympics competition, Science Fair open house or further competitions
- Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for March 19th, have been postponed
- School facilities, including gymnasiums and the weight room, is off-limits until further notice
Do Your Part to Respond Individually to COVID-19:
- Recognize the signs/symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19): Fever, Cough and Shortness of Breath
- Disinfect interior surfaces of your residence: door handles, sinks, bathrooms, countertops, etc.
- Continue to wash hands often, and for at least 20-seconds vigorously with soap and water
- Practice Social Distancing as a strategy to slow the rate of spread of COVID-19
Extended School Closure Preparations
- Educational formatting for extended school closures will be drafted this week
- Linton Public School Planning Survey is located on Live Feed portion of district website, and on our district Facebook Page
- Hybrid and/or Online learning platforms are being created in case of prolonged school closures
- Updated COVID-19 specific information can be found on district website
School Re-Opening Procedures
- District staff will be stationed at our two main entrances to screen ALL individuals before entering
- Anyone with a core temperature above our threshold point after repeated readings with forehead or ear thermometer will be sent home
- Individuals with elevated temperatures, or low-grade fevers, will be given a mask immediately and asked to wait inside entrance of building until transportation home has arrived
- Protective gloves will be changed by staff after contact with any individual exhibiting an elevated temperature above the identified threshold temperature
- Handwashing posters will be placed in bathrooms and around the lunchroom
- Students are encouraged to bring water bottles; bottle filling stations will be available
- Drinking directly from water fountains will not be an option
