Mr. Schirado Summer News!
The 2024-2025 school term is fast approaching and is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 20, 2024! I invite all parents and students to our “Back to School” event on Thursday, August 15th, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. From 4:00- 5:00, there will be opportunities for elementary students (PK-5) to visit their new classrooms, and teachers, grades 6-12, can get their locker combinations and class schedules. We will serve grilled hotdogs and chips from 5:00 to 600 PM in the lunchroom. We would love to see you there!
Included with this parent mailing are several pieces of useful information. Please review these items carefully, and feel free to contact Linton School with any questions. This packet includes:
The current 2024-2025 school calendar and a list of potential fees for the school term.
An application packet for free and reduced meals for the 2024-2025 school term. Please return this completed application to the high school office before the first day of school as we CANNOT retroactively credit students for free or reduced-price meals if the form is turned in after school starts. The front side of the application must be filled out completely, including the last four digits of the social security number of the signer. The reverse side contains helpful information for correctly completing the application. Eligible families filling out the enclosed application is vital for our school district, as families can receive free or reduced-price meals and our school benefits in calculations for various state funding programs. We will serve breakfast and lunch again this year, with the breakfast program starting on the second day of school. Free & Reduced Application
A letter explaining the school district’s asbestos management plan.
A school supply list.
A Linton Public School Consent Form.
The school district’s policies are available on our website: www.linton.k12.nd.us.
School offices will be open Monday - Thursday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and will switch to school hours on August 20th. Those wishing to purchase school lunches, activity tickets, or pay school fees in advance may do so starting August 12th. If you are new to the district, have not registered your children, or if your family status or mailing address has changed since last year, please stop by either school office to fill out a new registration form. Student-athletes are required to complete a sports physical every year. NDHSAA physical forms are available at the local clinic, or in school offices.
Our building will also be equipped with a new security system that includes a key fob entry system. The exterior doors at our two entrances (middle school and high school) will remain open for patrons to enter the foyer during school hours. Our buzzer system will now be located next to our internal doors for you to gain access to the building. These extra safety measures will also allow parents to enter a warm area during our winter months before gaining access to our building.
Please contact the administrative offices (254-4173 or 254-4717) with any additional questions about the 2024-2025 school term. I look forward to a great year at Linton Public School District!
Sincerely,
Michael Schirado
Superintendent
Linton Public School
