As the temperatures begin to drop, we want to remind families that our students spend time outdoors throughout the school day. This includes Morning Movement during the fall as well as noon recess.
Outdoor time is an important part of the school day, giving students an opportunity to move, play, get fresh air, and take a break before returning to the classroom ready to learn.
Please Come Prepared for the Weather!
Students are expected to participate in outdoor recess. Not having appropriate outdoor clothing does not exempt a student from going outside, so please help your child come to school prepared for the day's weather.
As temperatures drop, students who are not dressed appropriately may experience the natural consequence of discomfort when outside. While our staff cares deeply about the health and well-being of every student, we expect each student to be responsible for their clothing. We appreciate your help in making sure your child leaves home prepared for the weather each morning.
🌡️ Outerwear Recommendations
Based on the RealFeel® temperature
55°F and above: T-shirt or weather-appropriate clothing
40°F–54°F: Light coat or sweatshirt
Below 40°F: Winter coat, hat, and gloves
When snow is present: Boots and snow pants
-10°F and below: Students will remain indoors
Please remember that North Dakota weather can change quickly! Sending extra layers is always a good idea, especially during the winter months.
