https://5il.co/n697

âą Wednesday, November 18: Paraprofessionals Educators and Administrative Staff: We stop today to recognize our amazing paraprofessionals and administrative support staff, who walk along side of our teachers daily to support all of our students. A smiling face, air-hugs, and reminders of gloves, they are there with just what is needed.

Today we thank you for the nights spent looking over homework, studying spelling words, reading together, and embracing those educational moments at home that make the difference. Your support is obvious everywhere we go whether it be from the sidelines of a game, a good nighttime story, serving team meals, packing snacks or helping us log on zoom. Hello Linton Families,
Governor Burgum has issued an Executive Order 2020-43 to implement the mitigation measures to slow the spread of COVID-19, which takes effect Monday, Nov. 16. We anticipate the following impacts to Linton Public School:
* Playoff championship contests and performance events sponsored by the North Dakota High School Activities Association during the month of November may continue under NDHSAA requirements.
* All high school winter sports and extracurricular K-12 activities are suspended until. Dec. 14. (The suspended extracurricular activities at LPS from 11/16 - 12/13 would include: Elem BBB, JH GBB, JH WR, 9-12 WR, 9-12 GBB, 9-12 BBB, and JH BBB). This also applies to all association, community and club sports for youth and adults.
* This Executive Order includes a mask mandate for K-12 schools. Our preschool is exempt from this order. This will not dramatically change the day-to-day mask requirements we already have in place, and plan to continue. School administration and classroom teachers will determine any deviations from our current masking requirements.
We will continue to share information from NDHSAA as we receive it.
Governor Burgamâs mitigation measures video is here: https://youtu.be/HJUdRKQND3M
Please reference the full order at: https://www.governor.nd.gov/sites/www/files/documents/executive-orders/Executive%20Order%202020-43.pdf

Good Evening Linton Families!
Linton School was informed of our first positive COVID cases over the weekend. This has resulted in students being quarantined as well as their close contacts, nearly all of which are high school students.
Linton School will continue to educate our students in a face-to-face model at all grade levels, and will evaluate our educational offering on a case-by-case basis in the weeks ahead.
Our extracurricular offerings will also continue as scheduled. Extracurricular postponements for this week include JH VB @ Strasburg that was scheduled for 9/14/20, and elementary GBB vs. Strasburg-Zeeland that was scheduled for 9/17/20. All other activities for this week are as scheduled so far. Thank You.

Beginning August 31, 2020, breakfast and lunch is free for all Linton School students! This was made possible by the USDA's waiver extension for free meals within the Summer Food Service Program until December 31, 2020, or until funding is exhausted.

"Our current world is filled with changing statistics, uncertain outcomes, and heightened emotions. Take some time to rebuild your internal landscape with a focus on foundation. Which emotional needs are being met, and which require some nurturing? When you let go of something that no longer serves you, youâre letting yourself evolve and grow, choosing a new path that is full of possibility. That decision is filled with grace and dignity."

Dear Linton School Parents,
Thank you to those that were able to participate in our 3:00 PM Zoom Parent meeting today. Unfortunately, our public meeting was hacked by someone with malicious intent. I sincerely apologize for this happening during our meeting! We have contacted law enforcement to help us investigate this occurrence. Zoom customer service has also been informed of this incident.
In the meantime, we have purchased Zoom Pro for any future public zoom meeting, which has 256 bit TLS encryption, is HIPPA and FERPA compliant, and uses privacy practices and technical security measures to ensure that customer data is even more protected. In addition, Zoom security features have also been vetted for maximum protection from outside users.
Zoom meetings between teachers and students at Linton School are private meetings that take place by email invitations through password protected accounts â helping to prevent such an occurrence from taking place. Tonightâs 7:00 PM Zoom Parent Meeting has been pre-recorded, and a link will be posted for all interested families to view by 6:45 PM. Any follow-up questions can be directed to Linton School administrators.
We will continue to do our best to offer timely communication that allows you to be an active participant in the education of your child.

November 18-22, 2019, is American Education Week and we want to take the time to highlight the importance of bringing together educators, parents, students, and community in a unified effort to build great public schools. Each day we will spotlight the different people who are critical in building our amazing team here at Linton Public School. We all play an important role in education and we want to recognize all of that amazing work.
Friday, November 22: Substitute Educators Day. This day honors the educators who are called upon to replace regularly employed teachers. They take our phone calls day or night and arrive ready to wear countless hats. In a momentâs notice, they can be here and with no hesitation, fill the shoes of endless people. Without our amazing substitute teachers, we could not make each day happen. So, if you see these special people in town today, thank them for being the jack of all trades at Linton Public School.

Thursday, November 21: Education Support Professionals Day. Each day we arrive at school, and things are orderly and tidy, warm and safe, and the smells of yummy buns already linger in the halls. Our bus drivers rise earlier than the rest to ensure each of the students arrives safe and timely. While Francis and John stay late, and James is the first to come, you can bet it's all put back and shiny, ready for the halls to fill and the classrooms to buzz with learning. The moment you walk in if your tummy needs to be fed, Liz and Rita have just what you need warm and tasty to fuel our bodies for learning. Although they may not reside within the four walls of a classroom, these individuals are the catalysts that make this school run. If you see our bus drivers, janitors, and or cooks, today's the day to say a big THANK YOU! #Reach.Educate.Inspire

Your phone calls are greeted with a friendly hello by Donna, Lacey or Marcia. These ladies know the schedules of many and the phone numbers of all. Their commitment to all our staff and students is endless. If you see these amazing ladies today give them a huge thank you! #Reach.Educate.Inspire

This is Superintendent Keeney with an important message from Linton School. Linton School will be in a "soft lockdown" tomorrow as a precautionary measure to the events of the ND Public Service Commission hearing taking place at the Emmons Co. Courthouse regarding the proposed Pumping Station in rural Linton.
A "soft lockdown" means that school will go on as usual inside our building. However, the doors will remain locked all day tomorrow and no one will be allowed to enter or exit the building unless it is an emergency situation. If your student has an appointment tomorrow, I am asking you to reschedule, especially if it is in Linton, if you are able.
Parents of students in "old town", and those that live in town and walk to school, are asked to drive their children to and from school tomorrow. We will provide busing to our in-town students, who would otherwise have to walk home, but you need to inform either office if this is necessary for your student.
These measures are simply a saftey precaution to keep all of us safe as the public hearing process is completed. The hearing will be broadcast on BEK TV, and is also linked to a YouTube channel that can be found on the ND Public Service Commission website. Thank You.

On Thursday, October 10th our Volleyball Team will be hosting âAce it for Asherâ night during their games vs. Edgeley-Kulm which begin at 5:00 PM. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be given to the family of Asher Sorrels.
Asher Ryan Sorrels, son of Tony and Emma âLeierâ Sorrels and brother to Easton and Edison, was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) at 20 weeks. HLHS is a birth defect that affects normal blood flow throughout the heart with the left side not functioning properly. Asher had two of three surgeries at the Childrenâs Hospital in Minneapolis before going into heart failure. He has now been added to United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) as a 1A status for pediatric heart transplant and will remain in the hospital until a heart becomes available.
After overwhelming support of this t-shirt fundraiser it was decided to open it up again for additional orders. All t-shirt proceeds will go directly to the Asher Sorrels family to help cover medical and traveling expenses along this journey.
